The parish is governed by a Vestry comprising the Rector, the Assistant
Clergy, two Wardens and twelve members in three classes. The twelve by
tradition limit their service to two consecutive three-year terms. They
are members of the parish who are nominated by a committee to stand for
election at the Annual Meeting, which is usually held on the last Sunday
in January after the 10 a.m. service. The nominating committee presents
the slate of names with brief resumes, the Rector calls for any additional
nominations and the membership attending the Annual Meeting elects Vestry
representatives by voice vote.
The Vestry represents all parishioners in administering parish affairs, with primary focus on financial matters and the physical plant. The Senior and Junior Wardens are elected by the Vestry, along with the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Clerk and Chairman of the Cemetery Committee. For each church committee established - for example, Hunger and Outreach, Buildings and Grounds, Christian Education, the Day Camp, and Caring Connection – there is a Vestry liaison to that committee to coordinate and communicate their activities with the Vestry. The Vestry meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the Parish Hall.
