The Altar Guild is a team of more than 40 parishioners who contribute to the provision and maintenance of all the items necessary for the varied types of church services at St. John's. We assure that the vessels are cared for in a dignified manner, ever conscious of their distinct purpose during the Eucharist, and handle the remnants of any consecrated material with due reverence after the service. Our responsibilities include all the altar linens, the wine, the communion wafers, the candles and wicks, the cassocks, the surplices and the flowers. Each month two Guild members are assigned to the cleaning of the altar after a service and preparing all for future use. Two other members are assigned the creative duty of flower arrangement .
