St. John's Church School
“United in building on strengths and tradition to help our
youngest parishioners be strong and joyful in their faith.”
We are delighted to welcome you to St. John's Church School . The goal of our program is to celebrate and share the love of Christ and to recognize God working in our lives. We do this by joyfully worshiping and learning together supported by our Episcopal heritage of relying on scripture, tradition and reason.
Sunday Schedule
9:45 am
Church School begins each Sunday at 9:45 in the Isaac Sherwood Room. All ages, including parents, are encouraged to join us for this 15 minute musical interlude.
10:00 am
Grades Pre-K thru 3 remain in the Isaac Sherwood Room for our Children's Chapel; a specially designed service that allows our youngest parishioners to appreciate and participate in Sunday morning worship. At the conclusion of the Children's Chapel teachers escort the children to their classes, where they explore and expand upon the day's lesson through age-friendly activities.
Grades 4 thru 8 meet with their teachers in classrooms located in Bleecker Hall. On Holy Eucharist Sundays classes conclude in time for students to join their parents in church for Communion. On Morning Prayer Sundays each class meets for a full hour, exploring the day's lesson, expanding their knowledge of liturgy and scripture, and working together as a class on upcoming special events.
High School students attend church on Holy Eucharist Sundays and meet together as a class on Morning Prayer Sundays.
Just a Reminder…
At St. John's , Holy Eucharist is celebrated on the first, third and fifth Sundays, and Morning Prayer is held on the second and fourth Sundays.
